Had I known that Kodachrome Basin State Park was going to be more than it was described to be on the campground website, I would have definitely stayed longer. Although yes, it was hot, dusty and with more penis shaped red rocks to look at than I cared to out in the park, the campground itself was located in a box canyon. I had electric and water, the sites are HUGE, the showers and restrooms wonderful (there is even a patch of real grass surrounding the building outside), and at night - so quiet you think you are the only one there. And the stars - fuggedaboutit! If you’re into astronomy bring your telescope, although you can see the Milky Way just fine with your bare eyeballs. No cell or wifi here, so be prepared to actually interact with your loved ones or fellow campers. Two humongous thumbs up for this park!
